Here I am in Milan!

I arrived in a place suggested by one of my collegue, a place really interesting, if you can, visit it. It’s called Cascina Cuccagna, an old cellar left there in the middle of buildings of the city, in Italian we say: non-luogo, no-location, full of charm and atmosphere that brings you in another age. This was the atmosphere of the Workshop of Interiors and Decoration, during which we have done the restyiling shabby of some furniture with the application of fabrics.

The charm of this place is connected with the existing structure without changes. The structure has not been changed… All elements are renovated respecting the old structure, the red bricks open-faced are ones of one time. Where was impossible to maintain the original structure, the choice has been done in line of the old style and in the respect of the existing structure, using materials and colors well inserted in the existing concept. The inexpert eye can’t realize these complex details, but it can feel a relaxed atmosphere and this is the result of a good renovation.

The particular aspect of this places, is that although they are so simple, they are frequently used for events. I was surprised by the turn over of events organized inside it. They were prepared rooms over and over again. On Friday, while we were preparing our room for the course, there was a wedding in the other rooms!

And here is our room, ones of the trusses, ready to host all my new friends!
Each one has brought a different object and a suitcase full of dreams! Every time meeting these special people, my heart fills up of happiness.

Questo workshop ha trattato 3 tematiche molto interessanti:

– scoprire il sample board e il mood board;

– recuperare pezzi di arredo di vario genere e tipo;

– imparare l’intaglio e l’applicazione di stoffe;

In this workshop we have discovered 3 themes really interesting:

– the simple board and the mood board;

– recover furnitures in different style;

– learning carving and the applications technique of the fabrics;

And each one begins his project.

There were many examples of different techniques, each attendee has could see, decide and try the technique perfect for the own piece of furniture.

Sta a noi riconoscerla e tirarla fuori!

Each piece of furniture has got inside its transformation!
We have to discover it and take it out! In this case the wheel of the hand-cart was a sugar-paper color…So, we have painted the weave wood with the same color.

These two chairs are recycled with the same technique but with different results, so everything depends on the support we have!

Durante le spiegazioni non volava una mosca…

During the course, silence…
